Brazilian Prawn Stew

Did you know that my Chilli and Coconut Cook Sauce is based on the dish Moqueca’ (‘Mo-Keh-Kah’)? Famously from Bahia State North of Rio. It’s a flavoursome seafood stew. My Prawn Stew is a really easy way to re create this dish at home in twenty minutes!

Capsicana Brazilian Chilli & Coconut Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 red or Green Pepper
  • 400ml water
  • 400g fresh King Prawns
  • Guacamole, Salsa, Sour Cream and Cheese to serve

  1. Cut the onion and pepper into thin strips.
  2. Heat the oil in a saucepan or deep frying pan over a medium heat and cook the onions and peppers for 4-5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the water to the pan immediately followed by the Capsicana Brazilian Chilli & Coconut Cook Sauce, stir through and cook for a further 5 minutes with the lid on.
  4. Add the fresh king prawns replace the lid and cook for a further 3-4 minutes until the prawns are cooked through.
